To Hold So Tight My Soul

I ask to know when time my death might come.

A bit of warning, yea, for ready want

To be.  Ye know the suffer’ whence I run.

My eye is veil’d, my house surround by moat.

Do I fear death, my God Divine, so lov’d?

Yea, know its mysteries doth fright’ my mind.

I thank that long have ye so gently rubbed

Away the scare that I have feared a sign.

To go in peace to shore of death I need.

Your Love to feel in depth most time in day.

Surround’ by Love and hope in heart indeed,

I will so walk clear way—in Your sunray!

I ‘scape from fear of death as Love enfold.

Ye know just how to hold so tight my soul.

I have written both love and divine sonnets in the Elizabethan style for a long time. Now I am gradually adding them to a blog. Most are dedicated to my husband.
