Entreaty to God

My God, my Dear, so sweet to me indeed.

Ye work with me to succor patience.

My fortitude, my aim, but slender reed.

Give me the cleanliness of perfect rinse.

Remove the blackness of soul’s impatience.

Give tolerance for others’ pain and fear.

Make me a mirror of clarity, not dense.

All this Ye can do, fast and sure, my Dear.

My patience and tolerance are needs

I have this day.   Shift attitude today

In me.  Do let me show a love in deeds.

This inner change will serve me well, I say.

Your patience with me, example fine.

I look to You, my Dear, and to Your Mind.

I have written both love and divine sonnets in the Elizabethan style for a long time. Now I am gradually adding them to a blog. Most are dedicated to my husband.
